A truck driver needs to drive 400 miles. The drivers average speed for the first 180 miles is b miles per hour. The drivers average speed for the rest of the trip is c miles per hour. Enter an equation for the total time, t, in hours it took the driver to complete the entire trip

Explanation:

speed = distance/time

time = t = distance/speed

t = 180/b + (400-180)/c = 180/b + 220/c = 20(9/b + 11/c)
