please help me with this question. Given the functions f(x) = −2x + 30 and g(x) = 2x − 10, find the value of x for which f(x) = g(x).

x = 10

Explanation:

It says they equal each other so equal the two separate expressions together

-2x + 30 = 2x - 10

goal is to isolate variable x

add 2x to both sides (this cancels out the -2x on the left side)

30 = 4x - 10

add 10 to both sides (this cancels out the -10 on the right side)

40 = 4x

divide 4 by both sides (cancels out 4 on the right side)

10 = x
