  • - 9x - 5y = -18
  • 4x + 5y = 33

Add up the two equations:

  • -9x - 5y + 4x + 5y = -18 + 33
  • -5x = 15
  • x = -3

Finding y:

  • -9*(-3) - 5y = -18

  • 5y = 27+18
  • 5y = 45
