Is the line for the equation x = -2 horizontal or vertical? What’s the the slope?

Answer: Vertical, Undefined Slope

Step-by-step explanation: On a graph, if we plot the point x=-2, it would come out as a point on -2 of the x axis. The line has to be vertical because if it were horizontal, the answer would not be true due to there being multiple x values. If the line is vertical, there are multiple y values, but it always has x=-2. The slope is undefined because the line would go straight up and there is no way to measure the exact slope. Since slope is rise over run, you cannot measure it because there is no run making the slope undefined.

If x is equal to - 2 it means that the line is vertical. If the line is vertical the slope of that line is undefined. So, since the line is vertical this line has an undefined slope.
