Suppose you are making a map of a square area. The dimensions of the actual area are 1,000 km by 1,000 km. You are drawing the map on a grid that is 10 cm by 10 cm. What scale would you use? Two cities are 820 km apart on the ground. How far apart are they on your map?​

I am not completely sure of the first answer, but the cities would be 8.2cm apart.
