if you are multiplying exponents with the same base number, you can add the exponents. so in your example it would be 5^-3. then, when you have a negative exponent you have to take the reciprocal of it. the reciprocal of just flipping the top and bottom of a fraction. so it would be 1/5^3. i hope this helps!
