find:

crane capacity = 17,000 - 3,000

= 14,000 kg

volume of gravel with respect to crane's capacity:

vol. = 14,000 kg

1,500 kg/m³

= 9.33 m³ (say 9 m³)

therefore, the crane can safely lift the bucket + 9 m³ of gravel
