This interdisciplinary field of science helps to connect several scientific discipline/field with the aim of preserving or improving the condition of both the living and non-living components of the environment.

Individual science disciplines do not really address impact of study on both the living and non-living components of the environment; which is where environmental science comes in - to provide a bridge on these gaps and attempt to connect all these individual science disciplines.
