How would I solve a problem similar to this?

|x - 5| = 25

How would i deal with the problem within the absolute value signs

Answer: There are 2 possible answers here. We know it can either be:

x - 5 = 25 or x - 5 = -25

For possibility number 1: Add 5 over to the other side to get x alone

x = 30

For possibility number 2: Add 5 over to the other side to get x alone

x = -20
