A second boat passes by your port, at a distance of 1,500 feet from shore. 10 seconds later, the boat is 2,000 feet away from you. how fast was the boat going?

Speed is distance over time
So 2000-1500=500 (how far the boat went in the given time)
the time is 10 seconds
500/10=50ft/sec.
