What is the solution to the following system of equations 3x+2y=4
2x-4y=8

1. y=(4-3x)/2
to get y by itself, you need to subtract 3x over then you are left with 2y. and to get y alone, you need to divide 2

2. y=-(8-2x)/4
same here, subtract 2x leaving you with -4y=8-2x you would then divide by -4
