An integer is any and all numbers that are whole numbers that aren't fractions. They can be positive, negative numbers. As long as they're whole numbers (like 1, 2, 3. -1, -2, -3 etc.) they're integers.

On the other hand: Rational numbers are any number that aren't infinite non-repeating numbers like Pi, etc. The numbers like Pi and random square roots that don't make a perfect square are called irrational. Basically the opposite if rational.

So therefore all integers are rational numbers.
