Answer: homeostasis

Explanation: homeostasis is the regulation and maintenance of out internal environment, this also includes gas exchange, (oxygen to carbon dioxide) which enables the ability to breathe. If our body would not be able to maintain homeostasis, every system in the human body would not be balanced, resulting in a disabled environment.
