One of the main political ideas drawn from the The Enlightenment was Human rights, essentially James Madison suggested that all men were born with a set of rights at which your birth giver passes to you in which can't be taken away, modified in the declaration of independence and constitution to suggest the same thing, that everyone was born with a guide line of rights, and that the government needs to protect them, and when they fail to do so, then they fail to serve the people's voice.
