The equation for a perpendicular has a slope that is the opposite reciprocal, meaning if the original slope is negative, the perpendicular slope is positive. So you can eliminate the bottom two answers since they do not have an opposite slope.

Reciprocal means to basically flip the fraction. The original fraction in 5/4 so the reciprocal is 4/5.

This leaves the first answer
