In the linear equation 3+2x=13, what is the second step in solving the equation for x?

Subtract 3 from both sides of the equation (i.e. you'll be left with 2x=10) and then divide both sides by two to isolate x (i.e. you'll get x=5)

3+2x=13

2x=10

x=5
