On the number line, graph the solution to the inequality -5(x+1) > 7x + 31? Can you tell me how to go about doing this problem I have tried a few methods but can't figure it out.

Answer:

x < -3

Explanation:

First we simplify:

-5x - 5 > 7x + 31

-12x > 36

x < -3.

We reverse the sign because we divided by a negative number on both sides.

That should be easy to graph.
