Explanation:

gradient (m) = y2 - y1 / x2 -x1.

(-2 =x1, 2 =y1) and ( 5 = x2 , 1 = y2).

plug in the values and solve...

m = 1-2 / 5-(-2)

m = -1 / 5+2

m = -1/7 or -0.14.
