Why is coal a finite resource?

because it is non renewable... meaning: once you use that's all... you can't get it back or reuse it

since it's a fossil fuel

Answer:

The reason coal is a finite resource is that the conditions for coal to form are not present anymore, even if we still had the proper conditions for coal to form, the process for coal reserves to solidify and turn into the coal we know takes millions of years.
