you will get a parabola that has a vertex in (8,6) wich means h= 8 and k=6

so the equation is

  • f(x) = a(x-8)²+6

to get a we will replace by the coordinates of a point for example (6,-2)

  • -2 = a(6-8)²+6
  • -2 = a*4+6
  • -2-6 = 4a
  • -8 = 4a
  • a = -2

a is negative wich makes sense since the parabola opens down

  • f(x) = -2(x-8)²+6
