Answer:

This is what actually happens with chemotherapy for cancer. Drugs are given which inhibit cell division. Cells such as tumour cells, which are rapidly dividing are affected most, then other dividing cells such as the epithelial lining of the gut, which nedds cell division to repair itself. The result is ulceration and bleeding.
