Can someone please explain absolute value to me?

Absolute value takes an integer and forces it to be positive. First, solve what is inside the absolute value marks(|4-2|) then remove the negative sign from the integer if it is negative. For example, the absolute value of -4 and 4 is 4.

Absolute value is the distance a number is from 0 on the number line.
