10x + y -9 = 10y + x..... . (2)

Substituting (1) in (2)

10(5-y) + y - 9 = 10y + (5-y)

50-10y + y - 9 = 10y + 5 - y

41 - 9y = 9y + 5

-9y - 9y = 5-41

-18y = - 36

y = 36/2 = 2

So, x = 5-2 = 3
