The population will start to decrease.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since there are not enough resources to sustain the larger population (overpopulation), we will see the population start to curb and decrease to fit the max demand of the resources available. The population either moves to a different location where there are more resources or die off as their isn't enough resources. Either way, until they decrease the population to the limit of resources available, the area will not be able to sustain the larger population.
