Just expand the terms to get general form.

</p><p>y=4(x-2)^2-1 \\</p><p>y=4(x-2)(x-2)-1 \\</p><p>y=4(x^2-4x+8)-1 \\</p><p>y=4x^2-16x+31</p><p>

Hope this helps.
