Start with the slope formula.

y2 - y1/x2 - x1

We take the second y minus the first y
over the second x minus the first x.

So we have -2 - 2/4 - 0.

Simplifying from here, we have -4/4.

This reduces to -1.

So the slope of the line is -1.
