Let's first and try to isolate x.

-2x < 5

(Divide by -2)

x > -5/2 ( < changes to > b/c it was divided by a negative)

x > -2.5

Since x is all values greater than -2.5, -6 is not within those bounds.

Thus, -6 is not a solution to the inequality.
