Explain why convex mirrors can only produce virtual images.

Answer:

Convex mirrors always produce virtual images because the reflected ray appears to "DIVERGE" while passing through the mirror and the diverged ray forms behind the mirror and is upright. Those images which are formed behind the mirror and are upright or inverted are said to be "VIRTUAL IMAGES".
