Explanation:

Two times a number, n that is, 2n

and four less than three times the same number, that is, 3n - 4

Cole is wrong for not interpreting the two statement differently into two separate expression.

Finding the sum of the two expression will be

2n + 3n - 4 = 5n - 4

So, if n = 2

Substitute 2 for n in the expression 5n -4

5(2) - 4

10 - 4 = 6
