To expand on the other users answer:
Once you have (X+7)(X-5) you set each term to zero to find the value of x.
So x+7=0 X=-7
And x-5=0 X=5
So your possible values for x are -7 and 5

Answer:

(x +7)(x - 5)

Explanation:

x² + 2x - 35

- 35 = 7*(-5)

2 = 7 + (-5)

x² + 2x - 35 = (x +7)(x - 5)
