L (length of the rectangle) = 4 in + W (width of the rectangle)

Therefore, L = 4 + W

P = 2L + 2W

34 = 2(4 + W) + 2W

34 = 8 + 2W + 2W

34 - 8 = 4W

26 = 4W

W = 26/4 = 6.5 in

L = 4 + W = 4 + 6.5 = 10.5 in

L = 10.5 in

W = 6.5 in
