Peter is covering a box to mail. The dimensions

of the base are 5 inches by 3 inches and the height
is-8 inches. How much paper will he need to totally
cover it?

Surface area of cuboidal box:

= 2( lh+bh+lb)

where l is length

b is breadth

h is height

= 2( 5*3+8*3+5*8)

= 2 ( 15+24+40)

= 2*79

= 158 inch^2 of paper
