let the missing side be x.

We are given the length of the other side is 2 and the hypotenuse is 10

applying the pythagorean formula:

x² + 2² = 10²

x² + 4 = 100

x² = 100 - 4

x² = 96

x = √96

x = √(16 x 6)

x = √16 √6

x = 4√6
