A 13 ft ladder is laying on a wall, the angle the ladder makes with the floor is 45 degrees.

How high off the ground is the top of the ladder? Use the function y = 13cos (θ)

Answer:

9.1924

Explanation:

if you make a model the 13 foot ladder is the hypotenuse and the height off the ground is the opposite. so you would you sin. this is what the equation would look like. sin(45)=x/13

now just multiply 13 to sin(45)

*i know it says to use y=13cos but i don't see why you would use that to find the height of the wall, but I might be wrong on how to do it, this is just how I learned and is what my level of math is.
