Answer:

The Counterculture involved values and norms which were different from the normal/usual one in the American society. It brought about some changes in the the generation gap, behavior about sex and also fashion. Polygamy, drugs, sexuality were on the rise.

In the political scene, it led to the assassination of the President John F. Kennedy and the resignation of President Richard Nixon due to their resistance to the deviation. It however eventually became accepted into the American culture around 1973.
