2(x+4)-10=36-14
Remove the parentheses and then subtract
2(x+4) >>distribute 2 through the parentheses
then subtract the numbers so now it’ll be
2x+8-10=22
now you calculate the difference +8-10
2x-2=22
now move the constant to the right hand side and change its sign
2x=22+2
add the number
2x=24
divide both sides by 2
x=12
ANSWER: x=12

Answer:

x = 12

Explanation:

2(x + 4) – 10 = 36-14

Combine like terms

2(x+4) -10 =22

Add 10 to each side

2(x+4) -10+10 = 22+10

2(x+4) = 32

Divide each side by 2

2(x+4)/2 = 32/2

x+4 = 16

Subtract 4 from each side

x+4-4 = 16-4

x = 12
