There are 200 Counters in a bag. 50 of them are taken out. And have a dab of white paint placed on them. these 50 marked counters are now put it back in the bag which is given a good shake. 80 counters are now taken out. About how many of them would you expect to be marked with a dab of white paint?

If 50 Counters out of the total have white paint, the value is then represented as

= 50/200

=1/4

The initial 50 Counters taken out is then put in the bag again and mixed thoroughly to get an even distribution.

If 80 Counters are taken out of the bag, the value is represented as

= 1/4×80

=80/4

=20

Therefore, 20 Counters are expected to be marked with a dab of white paint.
