Hans brought 3 CDs that were each on the same price. Including sales tax, he paid of total of $52.50. Each CD had a tax of $0.90. What was the price of each CD before tax?

Explanation:

if the tax was .90 for each CD, you times that by 3 bc there are 3.

.90*3= 2.7

If the total was 52.50, then subtract 2.7 to get the price for the 3 cds without tax.

52.50-2.7= $49.8

Divide 49.8 by 3 because there are 3 cds and you get 16.6, which is the price for one cd before tax
