-you start by subtracting 4x on both sides(to get rid of it on the left side of the equation). you end up with -y= -4x+6

-y must be positive when it is alone, so to make it a positive, you have to divide both sides of the equation by -1. you end up with y= 4x-6

-so now that we have y by itself and positive, we can identify the slope. (the slope will always be what is right next to x, in this case it is 4). so the slope is 4
