When are the follicles and eggs formed and released? How many follicles and eggs form?

Answer: In a normal menstrual cycle one follicle will grow containing one egg. The follicle will get bigger until it ruptures at ovulation which then releases the egg. This is usually around 14 days after the beginning of your menstrual cycle.
