What is the interquartile range (IQR) of the numbers below?
1, 2, 3, 3, 4, 4, 4, and 6

Answer: 2.5

First, lets find the median. In this case, its 3.5

Next, find the median of the numbers below the median, and the median of the numbers above the median.

The median of the lower numbers is 2.5

The median of the upper numbers is 5

Now simply find the difference.

5 - 2.5 = 2.5

Answer: 2

Explanation:

The IQR is when you subtract the 3rd quartile which is 4 and the 1st quartile which is 2, so 4-2= 2. Hopefully I did this correct.
