She can deliver the message to Jake who then delivers it to Marissa.
Marissa delivers it to Kelly who then finishes the delivery.
Each of the four friends walks the message the same distance.

Answer:

Equation to measure the distance covered by each 4m = 14

Explanation:

Let the positions of four friends are A, B, C and D.

Brandi is at A, Jake is at B, Marissa at C, Kelly at D and Brandi's friend is at E.

Distance between Brandi and her friend = 14 miles.

Let each of them travel 'm' miles then total distance covered by all

= 4 × m

and the equation will be 4m = 14

m =
(14)/(4)=(7)/(2) miles

m =
3(1)/(2) miles

Therefore, distance covered by each will be =
3(1)/(2) miles
