Why is the urban population increasing faster than the rural one?

Answer:

As each day people flock from rural settlements to urban ones in search of new working oppurtunities (that are only available in the cities) in order to have a better livelihood. Urban growth has slown in Western settlements but is fastest in developing countries as new industries expand at a rapid rate in urban settlements leading to many jobs for rural settlers to have and start a new life.
