2x - 3 = - 2x + 5 ( add 2x to both sides )

4x = 8 ( divide both sides by 4 )

x = 2

Substitute x = 2 into either of the 2 equations for corresponding value of y

Substituting into (1)

y = 2(2) - 3 = 4 - 3 = 1

Solution is (2, 1 )
