How do I calculate this parent function of a linear function? The parent function of a linear function is y=x. When the parent function is changed to y=x+5, how does the graph transform?

Explanation:

This only moves the linear function up 5 units. So, before the y-intercept and the x-intercept both was (0,0). Now, the y-intercept is (0,5) because the graph was shifted up 5 units.

hope this helps :)
