How do you find the mean of a data set ?

Add up all the numbers and then divide that number by how many there are.
Ex: data set of 3,5,7,8
Add together 3+5+7+8=23
Divide 23/4=5.75
5.75 is your mean

You have to add up all the data values and then divide it by how many numbers there are. For example:

1,2,3,4,5,6,7

1+2+3+4+5+6+7= 28

There are 7 numbers, so 28/7 equals 4

Mean= 4
