How did the British government feel about the conditions set out in the Treaty of
Versailles?

They wanted the conditions to be fair. Not too harsh but not too easy. I believe France wanted the treaty more harsh and the US rejected the treaty.

The general opinion was that the terms were fair. The British newspapers suggested that Germany would no longer threaten world peace
