The length of a rectangle is seven less than twice the length of its width. If the area of the rectangle is 15 square meters, find the value of x.

Length is 3 meters and the Width is 5 meters

Explanation:

L*W=15

L=2W-7

(2W-7)W=15


2W^(2) -7W=15\\2W^(2) -7W-15=0

(2W+3)(W-5)=0, don't use (2W+3)=0, because it gives you a negative dimension.

W=5, L=3
