How do the issues of power wealth or morality influence the growth of the United States during the time period of the westward expansion?

Sorry if it does not help, but this is my all. :3 French and British Military Conflict. During this time the French and the British empires were in a struggle for control of Lake Champlain. The reason being that it was a strategic highway with access into the interior of the Northeast.
