Explain why it is surprising that the world's third richest man is based in La Coruna in Galicia (lines 3-5). Answer in your own words as far as possible.

Galicia is not a place in which you would expect such a prosperous man to reside, for the region itself is known as one from which many people want to escape, as can be seen by travelers of the 1900s who distanced themselves by many miles, even going as far as to arrive upon South America, all because Galicia was so incredibly poor.
